Should I use ice or heat?
It is hard to make recommendations without a thorough history and examination. In general, you can't go wrong with ice. Ice blocks pain and helps decease inflammation, both good when there is a new injury. Heat feels good, but it's not always good initially, especially not at night. Also try moving around, when you move it can decrease swelling and help block the pain. So, don't stay in bed too long.
